Megan Metcalf is a performing artist, choreographer, writer, and researcher working in New York City.
She holds a degree in literature from Columbia University, where she also studied cultural theory and art history
and collaborated with the Computer Music Center. She participated in The Kitchen´s Summer Institute 2005 and conducted
movement/technology research in residence at the Studio for Electro-Instrumental Music (STEIM) in Amsterdam in 2003.
Meganís work has been seen at venues such as 322 Union Gallery,
Williamsburg Art NeXus (WAX), The Tank, and Columbia University.
As a dancer, she has performed for Stephan Koplowitz, Noemie Lafrance,
and Maher Benham, among others. She recently received grants from
Fractured
Atlas and the Lower
Manhattan Cultural Council, and will be presented at New Dance
Alliance´s Performance Mix Festival at the Joyce SoHo in March
2006. She also contributes to First Cut Books and Studio 360, a
weekly public radio arts program.
