mixed media installation
(wall texts, file cabinets, office supplies, trash, random objects)

Megan invited neighbors, friends, and other artists into the gallery to organize identical piles of paper, objects, trash, photographs, and other random items in a drawer of a filing cabinet. She made colorful graphic maps of the organizational systems and analyzed each "portrait" using art-historical language.

Portraits inquires about the relationship of "work" to "art" while re-defining the terms, and asks how artistic representations of people can actually represent them.
